enlarged, printed, and affixed to glass bus shelter
Hillsborough St., near North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC
9' x 5'
Felix Obelix: artist
Commissioned by: City of Raleigh, Office of Raleigh Arts
This piece features altered postcards from near the site of the bus shelter to reinforce site specificity. Subtle nods are also made to Sir Walter Raleigh (and North Carolina's colonial past), NC State University, and Raleigh's Hispanic population. The collages were small, then enlarged, revealing the interesting faults and grit in the original printing process of the images. The piece can be viewed from within the bus shelter and from behind it.
